Automatic page rotation for imposed, mixed-orientation jobs

The Automatic page rotation feature lets you easily create a booklet, or another finished job, from a mixture of landscape and portrait pages. You can easily arrange the booklet so that the orientation of all pages is the same and no page content is clipped.

This feature works with Normal, Gangup, and Booklet workflows using either user-defined or based on trim box finish size. It does not work with VDP workflows or custom rotation.

  1. Open a job with mixed page orientation in Fiery Impose.
  2. In the Fiery Impose Settings pane, create a booklet by selecting Booklet (with the defaults, Saddle and Left), and set the Finish Size to User Defined.
  3. Select the sheet size.
  4. Next to Auto Page Rotation, select the auto rotation direction: either 90 degrees clockwise or 90 degrees counter-clockwise.
  5. Under Scale, select Fit finish size proportionally.
  6. At the top of the Settings pane, next to Template, click the save icon. Choose a name for the template and click OK.
  7. Close the job without saving it.
  8. Next, open Hot Folders and click New to create a new hot folder.
  9. In the Hot Folder Settings window that appears, type a name for the hot folder. Click Select and then Connect to connect to a Fiery server.
  10. Next to Job Action, select Process and Hold.
  11. Next to Job Properties, click Define.
  12. In the Job Properties window, select Layout > Impose, and under Templates, choose the template that you created in step 5 and click OK.
  13. In the Hot Folder Settings window, click OK.

The hot folder is created on the desktop.

  14. On the desktop, drag the job with mixed page orientations into the hot folder.
  15. Go back to the Fiery server. The job should appear there and be processed.
