Dongle and license requirements for Color Profiler Suite

Using Color Profiler Suite’s full functionality requires a spectrophotometer that has an activated license connected to the computer that has the software. (The spectrophotometer serves as a dongle.)

You can use any of the following instruments to license Color Profiler Suite:

  • EFI ES-2000 (included with Color Profiler Suite). The EFI ES-2000 serial number is a 7-digit number on the EFI ES-2000 cradle and is part of the serial number on the EFI ES-2000 instrument.
  • EFI ES-6000
  • EFI ES-1000
  • X-Rite i1 iSis
  • Barbieri Spectropad (with USB connection only)
  • Barbieri Spectro LFP
  • Barbieri Spectro Swing
  • Konica Minolta FD-5BT
  • Konica Minolta FD-9
Note: Contact your EFI representative for more information about the EFI ES-6000 or the Konica Minolta FD-5BT.

An activated spectrophotometer license is valid for that spectrophotometer only, and you can use only that spectrophotometer with that license.

If you connect the spectrophotometer before starting Color Profiler Suite for the first time, Color Profiler Suite automatically downloads and installs the license when the application starts.

Note: If Color Profiler Suite cannot connect to the Internet, see Download a Color Profiler Suite license.

If you connect a spectrophotometer that is unlicensed, you must activate the license.

If no spectrophotometer is connected, or you do not want to activate the license, you can run in Demo mode.
