Rename a Hot Folder

When you rename a Hot Folder, first deactivate the Hot Folder, which takes it offline and prevents changes to a Hot Folder that is in use. (A Hot Folder can be shared on a network). You can then rename the Hot Folder within the Fiery Hot Folders Console.

Important: Use the Fiery Hot Folders Console to rename a hot folder, not the Windows and Mac OS file renaming features. If you try to rename a Hot Folder in Windows, you receive an error message, instructing you to use the Fiery Hot Folders Console. If you try to rename a Hot Folder in Mac OS, no error occurs, but the Hot Folder becomes invalid.
  1. In the Fiery Hot Folders Console, select the Hot Folder to rename and click Deactivate on the taskbar.
  2. Double-click the Hot Folder in the Fiery Hot Folders Console.
  3. Type the new name in the Folder name field.
