Create or delete custom calibration sets

If your Fiery Server supports custom calibration sets, you can create a calibration set for a specific paper type or for certain printing conditions by editing a copy of an existing calibration set.

For more information about when to create a custom calibration set, see Color Printing, which is part of the user documentation set.

Create custom calibration sets

To create a custom calibration set, you copy an existing calibration set and edit it.

  1. In Calibrator, under Calibration Set, click the list and select Manage.
  2. Select a calibration set from the Calibration Set list.

Select the calibration set for the paper that is the most similar to your paper. For example, the calibration set might be for the same brand of paper but a different weight.

  3. Under Calibration Page, type a new description for Recommended Paper, select the setting(s) associated with the paper, and click Save.

The Recommended Paper description and settings are displayed when you print the measurement page for calibration, to remind you to load the correct paper.

Note: The settings for your new calibration set are copied from the original calibration set, so you only need to change the settings that are different.
  4. Type a new name for the calibration set and select an output profile to associate it with.

Use a name that describes the paper name, weight, and type plus any other specific printing conditions (for example, halftone or gloss settings). The name can have a maximum of 70 characters.

A copy of the selected output profile will be created and associated with the new calibration set. The copy has the name of the calibration set appended to it.

  5. Click OK. The new calibration set is added.

Delete custom calibration sets

When you delete a custom calibration set, the output profile associated with it is not deleted. The profile is automatically associated with another calibration set.

  1. In Calibrator, under Calibration Set, click the list and select Manage.
  2. Select the calibration set, click Delete, and then click OK.

A message indicates that the output profile associated with the deleted calibration set will be associated with a different calibration set after the deletion.

If you do not need the output profile after deleting the calibration set (for example, because the profile is just a copy of another output profile that was created when you created the calibration set), you can delete the profile.

  3. To close the window, click Cancel.
Important: Clicking Cancel does not undo the deletion. The calibration set is deleted when you click OK.
