You can use the visual correction tool to modify the ink curve of individual
ink channels, or to modify the plate characteristics to resolve dot gain issues.
A visual correction is based purely on
manual adjustments and should only be performed as an emergency measure by experienced
users.
- Under Correction type, do
one of the following:

Select Re-calibration to edit the ink curve of individual ink channels.
This type of visual correction is applied after color management in Command WorkStation.

Select Plate compensation to modify the input data for any supported file
format. This type of visual correction is applied before color management in Command WorkStation.
As color management normally relies on receiving
linear input data to apply color management properly, there is a need to compensate non-linear plate
characteristics for color-accurate output.
Note:
There is no fixed formula for editing plate characteristics. However, in the case of contone file
formats, a simple formula is applied, so that a 5% increase for the 50% patch will yield 55%.

Under Color mode, select
your printer's ink colors.
You can apply a global change to a set of ink colors, or you can modify each ink curve
individually.

Add or subtract color anywhere along the ink curve.
For example, you can correct a green tint by reducing the amount of yellow and cyan. To change
output ink percentages, enter input and output values in the table, or drag a point along the curve
to a new position.

Modify the gamma setting or the linear setting (optional).
The gamma setting affects the lightness or all colors, but mainly the mid-color tones. The linear
setting affects the lightness of all colors equally.

Click OK.
The visual correction file is saved to the
C:\ProgramData\Fiery\Fiery XF\Client\Working folder. You can load a visual
correction file from this folder to make further edits later.
