View job properties

You can view or override the print options for a selected job in either in the Held, Printed, or Archived lists.

If you are an operator and have not changed any settings or print options for a job in Command WorkStation, the Job Properties window reflects all the job settings a user entered in the PostScript printer driver before sending the job, or the default settings in the PostScript printer driver.

Jobs that are imported into Command WorkStation will show either the settings included with the job (for PostScript jobs only) or the default job settings for the Fiery Server (for PDF files or jobs imported without job information).

View or override job properties

You can view or change the print options for a job.

  1. Double-click a job in the Held or Printed list, or select the job and do one of the following:
    • Right-click to select Properties.

    • Click Job Center > Properties.

    • Click Actions > Properties.

To select multiple jobs on a single Fiery Server, use Shift-click, Ctrl-click (on Windows), or Cmd-click (on Mac OS X); then click Properties. After the multiple jobs have opened, specifying a value in the Job Properties window applies it to all jobs by default. The Summary tab allows a side-by-side comparison of the print options for multiple jobs.

  2. Click each icon in the toolbar to view the print options.

For some options, changing the setting requires that the job be reprocessed.

  3. If you want to override the print options, make the changes, and then click OK to save your override settings or click Print to save and print the job with your settings.

When you click Print, the Job Properties window closes and prints the job with the current settings.

Some settings cannot be applied instantly to jobs that are processed and held, because the job needs to be re-processed to apply the settings. In this case, the "Jobs will be processed again before printing" message will appear in Job Properties.

View a summary of a job's existing print properties

The Job Properties window allows you to print a summary of a job’s current properties.

  1. In the toolbar of the Job Properties window, click the Summary icon.
  2. To print a list of the job's existing properties, click Print Summary.
Note: Some print options available in the printer driver are not displayed in the Job Properties window. For information about specific print options and settings and where to set them, see your Fiery Server documentation.
