Add users to existing groups (FS100/100Pro)

You can add existing users to an existing group, or you can create users and add them to the existing group. You can add users to as many groups as you want.

Important: If you are connected to a Fiery Server with FS100/100 Pro or earlier, use this procedure. If you are not sure about which version of Configure you are using, see Which version of Configure am I using?. An alternative procedure about what to do with FS150/150Pro is available.

Creating a user, even with the required password and user name, does not assign any privileges to that user until you add the user to a group. If you selected the Allow users to print without authentication check box, a user that is not in a group can print but does not have any other privileges until the user is added to a group.

  1. From Configure, select Users and Groups.
  2. Select the group to which you want to add users and click View Detail.
  3. In the Group Membership section, click Add.
  4. In the Show contacts from list, choose the source of users.

Global Address List (if LDAP is configured and enabled) contains names from your organization's corporate database. Contact List contains users that you have already created.

  5. Select the name from the Available Contacts list and click Add.

The user appears in the Members list on the right.

  6. To search for a name in the Available contacts list, type all or the first part of the name in the Search field and click Go.
  7. To return to the full list of Available contacts, click Reset.
  8. If the name you want to add does not exist, click Add New, type the appropriate information in the Add New Contact window, and then click Save.
  9. To save your changes, click Save in the Add Member window.
  10. In the View Group Detail window, click Close.
