Select rendering intent

An output profile contains data for several rendering intents. When you edit a profile, the edit applies to a specific rendering intent. Be sure that you select the desired rendering intent before making an edit.

You can change the default rendering intent when you save a profile.

Profile Editor allows you to copy an edit from one rendering intent to another.

Depending on how a profile was created, it might share data between multiple rendering intents. In this case, an edit in one rendering intent necessarily affects the rendering intents that share common data. Profile Editor informs you if rendering intents share data when you change the Rendering Intent setting.

Absolute Colorimetric and Relative Colorimetric rendering intents always share data. An edit that you make in the Absolute Colorimetric intent is automatically duplicated in the Relative Colorimetric intent and vice versa.

The Absolute Colorimetric rendering intent is the only one that specifies the media whitepoint. Therefore, when you select the Media Whitepoint tool, the Absolute Colorimetric intent is automatically selected.

Click a rendering intent in the Rendering Intent menu.
