Force Command WorkStation to use the source profile

You can force Command WorkStation to apply a CMYK or a custom multicolor profile to a PostScript or TIFF job.

Before you begin: Copy custom multicolor profiles to the ..Server\Profiles\Reference folder.

Forcing the use of the CMYK source profile has the following effects:

Color space of job File format Applied source profile: CMYK
CMYKO/CMYKOG/CMYKOV/CMYKRG/CMYKOGB/CMYKRGB/CMYKV PostScript CMYK is printed. OG/OGB/RGB are treated as spot colors.
CMYKO/CMYKOG/CMYKOV/CMYKRG/CMYKOGB/CMYKRGB/CMYKV TIFF CMYK is printed. The multicolor channels are lost.

Forcing the use of the multicolor source profile has the following effects:

Color space of job File format Applied source profile: CMYK
CMYKO/CMYKOG/CMYKOV/CMYKRG/CMYKOGB/CMYKRGB/CMYKV PostScript/TIFF If the multicolor source profile and the job have the same number of ink channels, all colors are printed.

If ink channels are missing from the multicolor source profile, those colors are treated as spot colors.

  1. In Server Manager: On the sidebar, click Printers, and select a printer. In the printer's tree view, select a workflow. On the Color tab, expand the Spot Colors panel.
  2. Under Input handling, click Force CMYK or Force multicolor.

    These settings have no effect on RGB and grayscale jobs.

  3. Select a rendering intent.
